Scholarship policy records

Includes 19 clearly labeled earlier-intake or closed records. This is a curated catalogue, not every scholarship in Korea.

University directory scope

The institution baseline is extracted directly from the official KESS 2026 higher-education workbook: survey date 2026-04-01, publication date 2026-08-26. Campuses and branches remain separate records under each KEDI institution code. Our grouped institution count is not the published KESS school total.

The core scope includes universities, universities of education, industrial, open and cyber universities. 6 separately classified undergraduate institutions are labeled by their official category. 6 historical predecessor records remain accessible but are excluded from the default search. Junior colleges and other out-of-scope records are excluded from the undergraduate university count.

English names are cross-referenced to the official national university standard directory (2025 reference year, data date 2026-03-18) and institution sources where available. Official Korean names are retained. Later institutional changes are dated separately.

The statistical directory does not establish current international recruitment, program fees, scholarship entitlement or teaching language. Those fields require the institution’s current program and intake evidence. Unpublished or unverified amounts are never represented as zero.

Special categories and disclosure exceptions

Military and police institutions outside the core population have not yet been fully reconciled. Their admission scope is separate from ordinary international university applications.

Tuition evidence

Official 2026 tuition benchmarks cover 261 current institutions; 18 institutions also have university-published program fee tables. Undergraduate disclosure averages are annual, while graduate averages are per semester. Campus and graduate-school category rows remain separate; no cross-campus average is calculated. Program-specific amounts retain their original fee year, period and currency, including approximate or earlier-year amounts quoted in newer guides.

A reported zero average is retained as a source value, not a promise of free tuition or international admission. The four institutions absent from the national benchmark dataset have separate official-source coverage notes. Three corporate institutions have no verified public numeric fee.

Scholarship evidence

Sources were reviewed on 2026-10-29 (Asia/Seoul). Each scholarship page links to its official evidence and separates tuition, cash awards, living support, duration, renewal and deadlines. A general scholarship policy is not labeled “open” simply because it exists.

For 2027 GKS undergraduate applications, the embassy online window closed on 30 September 2026 at 18:00 KST. University-track deadlines vary; the scholarship page links to the applicable notices. Earlier-intake and closed records are hidden by default. Chosun language awards are checked against its Spring 2027 guide.

Institution-level funding coverage

Reviewed routes include current policies and clearly labeled past intakes. A reviewed institution does not necessarily have an open application today.

What stays on your device

Saved scholarship IDs and your comparison shortlist are stored in this browser. Condition-check answers and budget values stay in the current page and are not stored or submitted to this site’s server. Clearing this site’s browser data removes saved selections. There are no account forms or application-document uploads. The optional information request form sends its topic and text for private editorial review.
